The numbers are alarming. A recent study indicates that at least half of the people living in our country have experienced at some point in their lives issues surrounding vestibular or balance problems. Vestibular rehabilitation is available to improve balance and reduce dizziness-related problems such as BPPV and Vertigo.
Research shows that patients who receive individualized treatments showed overall improvements from their vestibular disorders. Of course properly diagnosing the patient is half the battle; it was reported that as high as 50% of cases go undiagnosed. Patients are left to suffer or led down a path which doesn’t treat or cure the issue – which can cause even more damage. For this reason, the job of a vestibular professional is so important.
